    Boskey Diversity Scholarship

James B. Boskey was a pioneer in alternative dispute resolution. One of the missions of his memorial foundation is to support students seeking mediation training. The Boskey Diversity Scholarship helps the WDRC further diversify the pool of mediators serving Whatcom County, especially people from marginalized groups who identify as multilingual, multicultural, and people of color. - do we want to differentiate this more from the BEAM Fellowship?

    Need-Based Scholarships

The WDRC also offers limited Need-Based Scholarships to those whose financial situations would otherwise prevent them from being able to afford the full registration fee.

    • PMT transformed the way I react to conflict and promoted a deeper understanding of what parties in conflict need to work toward a resolution and have an effective conversation. I was impressed with how practical and useful the mediation framework was at promoting productive conversation in the midst of intense conflict. - PMT 2025 Participant

    • This course is transformational and instantaneously applicable. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to master active listening or conflict resolution and for those who want to facilitate peace in their personal lives and within their community.” - PMT 2025 Participant

I left the training with a much deeper understanding of conflict dynamics, active listening, and interest-based negotiation—skills I’ve already begun applying in my work with families and colleagues.
